4th day!

In a row with a deficit. Today was the toughest because I worked out and my recovery meal was piss poor. I need to start wearing my heart rate monitor to the gym so when I calculate my calories I have a better idea. I’m gonna jump on the scale sometime next week. My gym is so chill I always have a blast there.

Workout complete!

Highlights 20 min treadmill 20 min bike.
Got the 65 Dumbbells for chest press
My shirt is completely drenched in sweat. That means I did a good job right?

It’s World Mental Health Day today, so I thought I’d share this with you as it’s something very close to my heart.
Mental illness is not only limited to humans, but non-human animals can also be afflicted. The underlying neurophysiology is quite similar across higher animals, but sadly an area very poorly understood.

An animal suffering from a mental disorder is as much in need of understanding, support, and love, as any of us.

Hey, I wrote an article on this topic!

The “Skinner mindset” that tells us to think of animals as little input-output machines has really detracted from the fact that they have highly emotional lives same as we do.

This is amazing and absolutely worth a watch.

So the first time I reblogged this I did so to keep to watch later. I just watched this.

I cried. I could not stop thinking about not only Spike but Lil, Gunnar & Prince. I could not help but feel anguish for so many animals (specifically horses and dogs) who have anxiety and other illnesses and are hit, choked, smacked, zapped etc for those illnesses.

We need to do better.

Turns out

Reading a horror comic before bed will actually in fact, keep you awake.
Which is odd considering how much I don’t like scary things.

Still nailbiter vol 1 was great.

That’s slamming! Gotta keep it up and I’m very proud for not stress eating since I have been stressed. Hooray for accountability.
