What a way to start june! Got up at 530 and went bike riding with the kid. We rode 13 miles and have 2 more that we will do after his last day of school for the year. He was pretty tired but I usually ride hills and we rode around the park, it was a breeze. 13 miles though :)

Im trying to fix little problems that I have been having that are preventing me from reaching my goals. This week I have been trying to not eat late at night. I know that the way I eat at night is bad and these past couple of days I have not been eating after dinner. My real problem is I don’t eat much in the morning or at all. I am not hungry. I have taken my steps to balance out food throughout the day. It is not easy but I am succeeding.

Yesterday when I was bringing in groceries both my hands were full. I had to flip on the switch so without thought I flipped the switch with my foot, which was about 4 feet high on the wall. I took karate when I was young and attribute my flexibility to that. Is that normal?

Kickass Kid of the Day: Yes, this shot is real — photographer James Morgan submitted it to this year’sNational Geographic Traveler Photo Contest:

Enal, a young sea nomad, rides on the tail of a tawny nurse shark, in Sulawesi, Indonesia. Marine nomadism has almost completely disappeared in South East Asia as a result of severe marine degradation. I believe children such as Enal have stories that could prove pivotal in contemporary marine conservation.

My ride today was such a challenge. I loved it. Speedwork mixed in within the long ride. Went up first hill a little trouble but didn’t slip. Then back down and to the other hill. My gears were messing up, that plus the heat made me mad but I channeled it all into energy and made it up the hill. I went to the end and wanted to go further.I went on a road that I haven’t rode before and coming back the hills were though. But I made it no stops. I am so proud
