Sometimes I see your face where it can’t be, and my heart simply stops for a moment. I forget how to breathe, I stand there immobile. Whether it be in the clouds, among the trees or a reflection in water, from the corner of my eye I see your face. Always the same one with a simple smile. The one I know all too well. I have worked out what I would say to you, but each time you appear unannounced, my mouth won’t open and my mind freezes upon your image etching every curve, every detail of your iris further into my brain. If words exist to soothe you, I know not of them.

Tough wind against me most of the ride.
Something big in woods next to me creeped me out.
What do you bikers and trail runners use for protection from wildlife?
Does anyone carry mace or something?
I bike a lot on a public road and I have been bitten by a dog on it before, and would feel more comfortable with something to deter animals.
